Not by a long shot!
Okay, people are starting to ignore my message and get distracted by my fashion choices. I just don't know what to make of these dang articles, like this one at The Gloss where they say I look "ridiculous" in my pink fleece vest, which I pulled over an orange fleece jacket.
I admit, my fashion choices have been a little more "out there" than usual. I got so bored with the boring old boring red jacket. It's boring! Why not liven it up a little? I am a vibrant and vivacious Alaskan woman, why should I be confined to not wearing animal prints? Or not pairing orange and pink?
You're not the boss of me, you know! None of you are! You just watch, just wait and see what I "go rogue" with the next time I start to fall off the public radar. If wearing some weird clothing choices on Fox News is what gets me press, then you better believe I'm gonna wear some weird clothing choices on Fox News.
Maybe it makes me look eccentric to layer fleece. But who cares? This is Alaska, where we are fiercely independent. We will layer orange and pink fleece if we want, gosh darn it! And we will throw on a string of pearls underneath, just to class it up a little.
Since when is it a rule you can't wear more than one layer of fleece on national television, anyway? Fleece is comfortable and warm. It's sensible! And Fox News is paying me to be sensible. So there ya go. Sensible. Like those four inch heels I wore on the campaign trail. "Bad Monkey" is the brand name. Sensible!!! You wanna dress up for something like a presidential campaign, after all.
And if pink and orange is a fashion crime, then lock me up. I love pink and orange! I have ever since it was the 1980s, and I was a plucky working mom who pulled fish out of Bristol Bay during the day, and nursed my babies at night. We really knew how to work color back then. Heck, I toned it down by not wearing my day glo neon green scrunchie. I was all set to pull it up into a side ponytail, do it right, you know? But Piper talked me out of it.
That kid, she is wise beyond her years. All her handlers and nannies tell me so.
