I'm Like, You Know, Whatever
Greta Van Susteren interviewed me after the State of the Union address, and she seemed to get a little annoyed with my vague answers. But seriously, what do you want from me? Obviously I don't like President Obama's State of the Union address. I don't even have to watch it to know that. In fact, I kind of didn't watch it, to tell you the truth. I was too busy texting and emailing and BBMing everybody about it.I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good long speech as much as everyone. A good long boring speech that drones on and on, and that says the same tired old stuff, just one big empty gesture. Heck, I've given plenty of speeches like that, myself. But that doesn't mean I can sit through one without my eyes glazing over.
Thank goodness for my Blackberry, is all I'm sayin'. I don't know how I would make it through life without it. Because life is so BORING, it's nice to have something interesting to constantly be fiddling with. Plus I can use it to text my kids and stuff, so that's handy. Ask Todd to pick me up another half caff half decaf 165 degree sugar free vanilla latte on his way home, that kind of thing.
So when Greta asked me what I thought of the speech, I told her I thought it sucked. I thought Obama lied, and also was wrong. What else do you think I'm going to say, right? Even if I cared - which I don't - and even if I agreed with him - which I don't - I mean, I don't think so - I didn't really pay attention - I'm sure not going to say that out loud in public!
I was a little annoyed when she pushed me for specifics. WTF! That's my specific! Dude called his plan "The WTF plan"! Isn't that the funniest thing ya ever heard? Because, totally, amirite?! WTF! I could have died.
But then she kept asking, like, what SPECIFICALLY did I dislike. And I don't know. I really don't. I don't think people really want to hear it, either. They don't care. They are against Obama just like I am, so it doesn't really matter what he says. Why bother? Americans are out of jobs! Heartlanders! Good people, good working mothers and fathers, families! America! Freedoms!
Whatever. The freedom to not have to pay attention to a whole long boring speech, that's the freedom I'm after.
